Sunni civilians flee Iraq conflict

Al Jazeera - Many who escaped fighting between army and ISIL say they are also targets of Shia armed groups who are destroying homes.

Many Sunni civilians have had to escape the conflict between the Iraqi army and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

They say they are also the targets of Shia armed groups - volunteers fighting alongside government forces, who are allegedly looting and destroying their homes.

According to a new report by Amnesty International, Shia militias have abducted and murdered scores of Sunni civilians across Iraq in retaliation against the actions of ISIL.

Al Jazeera's Zeina Khodr reports from Kirkuk.
